75cl - Sparkling wine

The current release of the Laherte Brut Tradition is comprised of a blend of sixty percent pinot meunier, thirty percent
chardonnay and ten percent pinot noir and is partially barrel fermented. The wine offers up a complex and slightly exotic
aromatic blend of a wine based primarily on pinot meunier, delivering scents of apple, a gentle touch of lychee, beautiful
floral tones, fresh-baked bread, citrus zest and chalky soil tones. On the palate the wine is fullish, deep and very pure, with
lovely mid-palate depth, fine complexity, frothy mousse, a beautiful base of soil and a very long, crisp and laser-like focus.
Last year’s release struck me as much more leesy in profile, but this year’s cuvée just sings with all of the floral elements
of pinot meunier on both the nose and palate. A beautiful bottle of Brut NV
The  Brut tradition is a subtle blending of three Champagne varieties and is representative of our terroirs. This Champagne comes from the Côteaux sud d’Epernay, Vallée de la Marne and Côte des Blancs. A fine and complex blending.
Cultural practices : traditional, done in a sustainable way and influenced by ecological methods. Average age of the vineyard: 28 years

Alcoholic fermentation in vats and barrels according to grape varieties and plots
Malolactic fermentation partly made
Ageing during 6 months and light filtration before bottling during the springs time

Disgorging and dosage :
disgorging "à la volée", and dosage à 4.5 g /l.
This Champagne has a regular ring of bubbles with a straw color. On the palate, the Brut Tradition develops fruity and floral notes with a final touch lightly honeyed and spicy. It is Champagne with an excellent stability and apt to age.

Tasting notes :

Gourmet Traveller Wine : Fresh aroma of green apples and pear. Rich lingering flavour. It shows
surprising delicacy for a 60% meunier wine, with a crisp, tight palate and lightly textured finish. A little
toastiness is adding complexity. Rich in the mouth without being weighty. 92/ 100

Allen Meadows – Burghound.com :
A distinct and expressive nose of citrus blossom and lemon zest
serves as an elegant introduction to delicious, crisp and relatively effervescent flavors that possess tangy
acidity and a yeasty character on the dry finish that makes the mouth salivate.89/now+
